This seems to be one of those reasons that Biden-haters love to dismiss, but supply and demand is an actual thing, and we all need to acknowledge that. Oil demand plummeted when stay-at-home orders were issued globally in response to the pandemic. Now that we are exiting the pandemic, oil demand is soaring, but supply has stayed the same. When demand is high but supply is low, this means a product will be expensive.
