If I may ask a potentially offensive, triggering question, would you estimate that a significant proportion of soldiers joined the military for action and adrenaline? Not minimizing your service whatsoever, I've just always been interested in people who do what you do. I have a background in GIS and Arabic and very nearly made the decision to join. Those recruiters were very persistent. In the end I found a good job online and got married, thus thwarting my military plans, but I do from time to time wonder what kind of consequences joining would have had. I do not regret my decision not to join, though.
