This passage speaks volumes to me.

These highly toxic — almost radioactive — people are sending an implicit message: “If you’re not as angry as I am about this issue, then you’re part of the problem.” And sometimes, ominously: “We are taking note of your silence.” It happens on the left and the right alike.
