I really gotta get the hell out of Arizona before I get killed.

In May of 2021, I might have physically gotten back in Arizona, but my mind was already starting to leave this place behind me, and I will never in my life cross paths with this town ever again.

My landlord was losing his mind. Parkinson’s seems to have been accelerating all of his other mental and physical health problems, and everything compounding on one another made my living situation hellish.

I cannot save anyone. I certainly cannot save an aging man from the inevitable. He has family (with whom he barely speaks to), and so he is THEIR responsibility, ultimately.

In fact I had spoken to his sister on countless occasions, giving her updates about his fragile mental state. She even sent me money via PayPal once since I mentioned to her about how during summer of 2020, he’d start shaking from watching the scary news about the rise of COVID, and then insist we had to go to the market to stock up on supplies.

Being the pushover I am (or rather, was), I’d give in every time since I was earning truckloads of money anyway. Each trip would amount to at least two to four hundred dollars and we’d make a panic shop about once each week. It all came out of my pocket…
